In the fall of 1983 I wrote to the Queen of England. I was nine. After several months I received this in return.
Front of envelope, postmarked January 31, 1984. Interestingly, Wexford was shortened to Wex.
Back of envelope with the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. The Lady-in-Waiting was Kathryn Dugdale who served the Queen from 1955, when she took up her first appointment as a Woman of the Bedchamber, until her retirement in 2002. Lady Dugdale died in 2004.
